Kokni Muslim Welfare Association, Mumbai, in pursuance of its objectives, places great emphasis on welfare and education. KoMWA intends to provide financial assistance to deserving Kokni Muslims of Mumbai and surrounding areas and other deserving candidates, subject to the Objects and Rules.

We at KoMWA believe that education is the best resource that can be provided to a person to enable him or her to grow and provide for himself or herself in the future and also create a chain of people who can contribute likewise in the future to the growth and financial prosperity of our community.

Another important area of its welfare activities includes providing relief and assistance to the needy Koknis by way of making arrangements for food items, clothing, monthly doles etc. Providing such relief along with assistance in education, will help bring about a transformation in our Kokni society.

In order to help the Association to meet its prime objectives, and keeping in mind the oncoming holy month of Ramadan, KoMWA appeals to you to donate generously to the cause of welfare of the deserving members of our Kokni jamaat. KoMWA will accept your zakat and distribute it amongst the needy Kokni brethren.

Zakat fund, as we all are aware, is required to be distributed within a specific time period as per Shariah and KoMWA intends to provide zakat relief in the form of cash doles, food items and medical assistance over this period of time, out of funds received by way of Zakat.

For the coming month of Ramadan, KoMWA has started receiving Zakat fund from our generous Kokni Jamaatis and has also begun distributing zakat. As of this date, food bags and cash doles have been distributed to 250 needy Kokni Jamaatis and the process is still on.

For purpose of education, we appeal to you to donate funds which are not due to be given as Zakat. We appeal specially to the younger generation of our Kokni community who are in tune with the requirements of modern education, who can understand the benefits of education and who are financially stable in life because of education to help in the cause of promoting education amongst the Kokni community and contribute generously to the Education Fund of the Association. Monies contributed to Education Fund will be used over a period of time overlapping one year. Unused amount in the Education Fund, will be invested in permissible modes of investments to generate revenue.

KoMWA is in the process of outlining various schemes of assistance in the fields of education, medical relief and entrepreneurial assistance for the benefit of the Koknis of Mumbai.
